The “Lizzie McGuire” reboot isn’t officially in the ground as Hilary Duff recently shared that there’s hopes for the reboot.
During an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the actress said she’d be up for revisiting the early 2000s hit show if it aligned with her desire to portray a more adult Lizzie.
Back in 2021, Hilary shared that at the time Disney+ Basically wanted a more “family-friendly” vibe and she wanted Lizzie to be an honest portrayal of a 30-year-old woman.
“I think they are really trying to figure out what kind of content they want living on Disney+, and that doesn’t totally align with, like, where I see Lizzie right now,” Hilary said on The Jess Cagle Show”.
I’m very protective of her and they’re very protective of her. The one thing for me was just the way that she could connect with what was going on in people that were watching the show. And so for me, it only makes sense to me to shoot a show where she’s acting like a 30-year-old in a modern world.”
The idea of the show returning has resurfaced and Hilary is optimistic:
